This past Sunday on ROCK ON RADIO, I deviated from the norm once again. Instead of the usual musical guest I was honored to have Philadelphia, PA, actress/filmmaker NATALIE PAIGE BENTLEY on the program.
This young woman is as talented as she is stunningly attractive. All told, she was perhaps one of my most engaging guests to date. We discussed her career as a whole, her production company,
ALABAMA
PRODUCTIONS (named for her dog), as well as her soon-to-be-released new movie, "CITY OF MOTHERLY LOVE."
Deciding at the age of five that she wanted to be an actress, NPB has devoted her life to acting and filmmaking. Admitting that it's all she's "ever wanted to do," she set out on a determined path to
achieve her goal.
Finding work in the local industry tough to come by, she moved out to Los Angeles, where she spent several years going to school and pursuing her ambitions. While out there she formed her own production
company; ALABAMA PRODUCTIONS. It was shortly thereafter that she decided to return east.
Already having roles in several award-winning films on her resume, Natalie decided to pour herself full force into her production company. Using all of her available resources, she began work on various
projects. She recalled how her first film was made with a budget of approximately five thousand dollars, and very little knowledge of the inner workings of filmmaking. Her lack of technical expertise didn't
deter her from pushing forward; she questioned anyone and everyone that she could. She sought and received advice about everything from lighting, to directing and editing.
Her new film project, a "dark" movie entitled "CITY OF MOTHERLY LOVE," is a total NPB production. The film is written, produced, and starred in by Natalie. It is about a struggling, young single mother,
whose only son is murdered at a young age causing her to seek justice and rescue herself in the process.
When I asked Natalie where the "dark" element came from she readily admitted that it's due to her own life experiences. Explaining to us that there are two sides to her personality, one of which is dark,
only seen in her films and on rare occasions by those in her inner circle. The other is fun loving, and personable.
The soundtrack to "CITY OF MOTHERLY LOVE" is all original and done by JAYY MANNON (Bonehead). NPB directed/produced the video for a song from the film called "TIME." The video was a top ten finalist
for the Babelgum and Music Nation's Video Music Awards.
"CITY OF MOTHERLY LOVE" has been picked up by a distributor and is scheduled to be released within the next few months. The soundtrack will most likely be released prior to the film.
If you missed my interview with NATALIE PAIGE BENTLEY, it will be re-aired on Tuesday at 11pm EST and Wednesday at 6pm EST on www.wifi1460am.com.
It is currently posted on her Myspace page as well.
To see more of NPB please visit her at www.myspace.com/nataliepaigebentley or, to see previews of her new film, go to

I must admit that this was one of my favorite shows to date. I thank all of you who've sent e-mails, Facebook, and Myspace messages complimenting NPB on her strong work ethic as well as wishing her success.
Also, thank you for all of the kind words for myself as well as all of us at ROCK ON RADIO. They are so very much appreciated.
This Sunday, October 18, my guest is Trenton, NJ, guitarist singer/songwriter GREG MERCKLE.
Turn on... Tune in... and, as always, ROCK ON!
