In the middle of the two-night run in Prague...
So, I rolled into Prague this afternoon with a mission. I needed new flip flops and I
wasn't paying much for them either. Well, more than one mission. I've been deprived of a lot
of sleep these last few days since I've arrived, what with jetlag combining with strange
hours and gigs running long, and, of course, today's early departure from Hamburg didn't

tonight having been added to the evening's lineup, which was loaded with poets and writers
celebrating the release of an anthology of post-Velvet Revolution poetry and writing, both
written in English or translated into thus.
So right away, a musician, from out of town,
having nothing to do with this book, and I go last. Well, fears aside, after listening to
these writers, and some of them were great, I came out of the gates running. This was the
first of two performances I have scheduled in town, two nights at the Globe. So I came out
of the gates running and it paid off. Brought the harmonicas out for a little foot stomping,
hootin' and hollerin', paid tribute to Luke Kelly and did Leaving of Liverpool all high
energy, dropped a handful of original tunes.
I was sweating, and exhausted, but I really
think I'll have some people return tomorrow for round two.
