This week's guest on ROCK ON RADIO was veteran musician, recording artist, and current production company partner JOE VADALA.
Some of you may remember Joe from the past as a member of The Stone Pony's house band JOEY & THE WORKS, or perhaps as a member of LABAMBA & THE HUBCAPS. But if you're a Jersey musician, you just remember JOE VADALA, period. VADALA has played along side of, for and with so many top quality musicians that his reputation speaks for itself.
These days VADALA is playing along with several artists, as well as leading his own band. He is also a co-partner in a production company, 180 Productions, that supports original artists and entertainers. Joe brought one such artist in with him, a very talented singer/songwriter from Plainsboro, NJ named DAN SUFALKO (www.dansufalko.com). "Good Bye Blue Sky" is SUFALKO's first EP. This five-song effort is a mix of blues and rock, with a bit of a country "twang" to it as well. Playing guitar on this CD is the much sought after PK LAVENGOOD of the well known veteran John Eddie's band.
I was fortunate to have VADALA, SUFALKO and LAVENGOOD all in the studio with me at once as we
discussed an upcoming show that VADALA is producing, as well as performing at, on August 21st in
Burlington at the BURLINGTON AMPHITHEATER in Westhampton, NJ. This show starts at 5pm EST and
features a large line-up of original up-and-coming artists from all over the state. SUFALKO,
LAVENGOOD, and even VADALA, will be performing at this event.
On air we were treated to live performances by SUFALKO of two songs off of his EP,
"Reckless" and "Our Old Song." VADALA also played a song from his catalog, titled "Gone." Both
artist's performances were backed by the superb guitar work of LAVENGOOD.
